AmiCorti International Film Festival

Founded in 2019, AmiCorti International Film Festival A.P.S. is a cultural event dedicated to promoting independent and socially engaged cinema, serving as a meeting place for filmmakers, students, and audiences.

Each year, the festival celebrates the power of cinema as a tool for education, dialogue, and change, highlighting works that address social justice, human rights, environmental sustainability, and cultural diversity.

With a rich program of international screenings, workshops, masterclasses, and the educational initiative “Cinema Education,” AmiCorti fosters cultural growth among younger generations and encourages the creation of a more conscious and inclusive society.

Since 2025, the festival’s main venue has been Roccaraso (AQ), Italy, in the heart of Abruzzo, with additional events held in Piedmont and abroad — including the European Cinematic Reflection “AmiCorti Reflection” in Prague, dedicated to exploring the dialogue between cinema and society.

AmiCorti is more than a festival — it is an international cultural network within the Third Sector, uniting art, education, and innovation to give voice to those who use cinema as a language of freedom and participation.

Career Achievement Award 2025

Golden Fragola Award
To Ken Loach, Paul Haggis, and Evgeny Afineevsky
The 2025 Career Achievement Award – Golden Fragola Award honors three outstanding filmmakers — Ken Loach, Paul Haggis, and Evgeny Afineevsky — for their exceptional artistic and social contributions to world cinema.
Three distinct voices, united by one belief: that cinema must serve humanity, amplify the unheard, and awaken collective awareness.

With the 2025 Career Achievement Award, AmiCorti celebrates three filmmakers who embody the festival’s mission: to use cinema to illuminate what remains in the shadows and to give voice to those unheard.
Ken Loach, Paul Haggis, and Evgeny Afineevsky represent the moral strength of contemporary cinema — an art form that educates, inspires, and transforms.

Ken Loach

A legendary figure in British social realism, Ken Loach has devoted over six decades to portraying the lives of working-class people and those left behind.
Through films such as Kes, I, Daniel Blake, and Sorry We Missed You, he has turned the camera into a tool of empathy, protest, and truth.
AmiCorti honors Ken Loach for his unwavering commitment to social justice and for showing that cinema can be a voice for dignity and humanity.

Paul Haggis

Canadian director, screenwriter, and producer Paul Haggis explores the moral and emotional dimensions of modern life with profound sensitivity.
With acclaimed works like Crash (winner of two Academy Awards) and Million Dollar Baby (Oscar for Best Screenplay), his films reflect a universal language of introspection and social consciousness.
AmiCorti celebrates Paul Haggis for his courageous and humanistic storytelling, which challenges viewers to reflect, feel, and take responsibility for change.

Evgeny Afineevsky

Russian-Israeli filmmaker Evgeny Afineevsky is one of the most important documentary voices of our time.
Through powerful films like Winter on Fire: Ukraine’s Fight for Freedom and Francesco, he has turned testimony into an act of faith and resilience, revealing the human face of conflict and hope.
AmiCorti honors Evgeny Afineevsky for his humanitarian commitment and moral courage, and for using cinema as a light of truth in times of darkness.

The AmiCorti International Film Festival
Founded in 2019, the AmiCorti International Film Festival A.P.S. is an event dedicated to promoting independent and socially engaged cinema, recognized as a space for encounter and exchange among filmmakers, students, institutions, and international audiences.

The festival was born with the goal of promoting cinema as a tool for dialogue, education, and social change, offering visibility to directors and works that explore themes such as social justice, human rights, environmental awareness, memory, and cultural diversity.

Over the years, AmiCorti has established itself as a cultural and educational hub within the Third Sector, combining screenings, workshops, masterclasses, and public discussions with the educational program Cinema Education, which every year involves hundreds of Italian and international students in discovering film language as a form of expression, knowledge, and active citizenship.

Starting from 2025, the festival’s main venue is Roccaraso (AQ), in the heart of Abruzzo, while its legal headquarters remain in Peveragno (CN), in Piedmont.

In addition to the annual summer edition (June 23–28, 2025 and June 2–7, 2026), AmiCorti also promotes the European Cinematic Reflection “AmiCorti Reflection”, an annual autumn event held in Prague starting from September 2025, dedicated to fostering dialogue among filmmakers, students, and scholars on the role of independent cinema in contemporary society.

Each year, the festival awards its prestigious honors:
Golden Fragola Award, dedicated to the best short films, feature films, animations, music videos, and independent documentaries,
and
Golden Orso–Fragola Award, presented to international figures who have distinguished themselves through their artistic and social contributions to the world of cinema — a symbolic recognition that unites AmiCorti and the Municipality of Roccaraso in a shared project of cultural growth and social cohesion.

AmiCorti is more than a festival: it is an international network of culture and solidarity, merging art, education, and innovation to build bridges between cultures and generations.

Through its initiatives, AmiCorti is committed to promoting a cinema that illuminates what remains in the shadowsand gives voice to those unheard, embracing a vision of the future rooted in creativity, ethics, and participation.
